Ian Garry is officially out of his UFC 296 bout. And this sudden revelation has, in turn, canceled the whole fight, as there seems to be no replacement for him. Garry had been facing a lot of smack talk from UFC fans as well as fighters. Did this cause his ultimate downfall, leading to a pull-out?

No, fortunately, it would appear that his mental health is still in place. However, it is his physical health that has turned out to be the problem. Only hours ago, Dana White confirmed that Garry was finally out of the bout due to a massive health emergency. Here’s what he was diagnosed with and more.

Ian Garry reportedly went to the hospital along with his son, and both of them were reportedly diagnosed with similar symptoms. Chael Sonnen was the first to report it, and Dana White followed it up with a quick announcement: “Ian Garry started with the flu that turned into pneumonia. So that fight is off and is not happening. It is true.” White said.

How long will Garry stay out? There’s no way to tell. Something like pneumonia could take weeks to more than a month to heal completely and could cause the body to go through changes. This means a loss of weight. It’s only clear that he’s out of the match, and we won’t be seeing him in action any time soon.

Could something have led to this situation? Doubtlessly, fans are going to rally to either troll or support the fighter in this difficult time of his. Unfortunately, the trolling is going to be nothing new for Ian Machado Garry, who has been subjected to brutal comments since the day Sean Strickland decided to pitch in his personal thoughts.

Everyone knows the story. Strickland found out that allegedly Garry’s wife and her ex-husband live with him, and that she once wrote a book about how one could be an athlete’s wife and girlfriend. And since that day, life has not been great online. Garry was even passionate about proving people wrong by winning his next fight. What will he do now? And what’s the deal with his family?

The Garry family dynamics are unusual

It has been reported that Garry’s nutritionist was brought in by his wife, Layla Machado Garry. And it was none other than her ex-husband, Richard Cullen. Not only is Cullen a sports nutritionist, but he’s also the president of Layla Ltd., a sports media company clearly named after Garry’s wife.

While confirmations from the family itself never really arose, many suspect that Cullen lives and travels with the family. Then, perhaps, it’s only reasonable for fans to speculate about the complicated dynamics. On the flip side, maybe they have it all figured out. Either way, currently, their biggest concerns are privacy and health; hopefully, they will attain both in the coming days, and we’ll get to see the rising Irish prospect in action again.
