With the 2019 season officially over, it is now time to see how much the drivers have pocketed in terms of salary. Of course, reigning champion, Lewis Hamilton will lead the list of drivers with the highest pay. This is especially because he is the reigning champion and Mercedes will likely have the biggest purse.

However, Daniel Ricciardo had a massive boost in his earnings for the 2019 Formula 1 season. He stunned the paddock last year with his move to the Renault team from the familiarity of Red Bull Racing. Interestingly, a reveal of this year’s driver’s salaries confirms it was at least financially strategic, if nothing else.

According to The Mirror the pay packets of all 20 drivers was released, which also included the new kids on the block.

It is a little surprising to see Alexander Albon as the lowest paid driver. However, it is understood that he started off in Toro Rosso before the mid-season swap. In other words, when the 2020 season arrives, his purse will be filled rather dramatically.

Ricciardo’s swap to Renault, as can be seen, places him firmly in 3rd place behind Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
