The Australian Open 2021 is the event fans are eager to witness. Especially with the number of problems and issues that have surrounded the world of late, tennis enthusiasts deserve some excitement.
As compared to the previous years, there are slight modifications towards the build-up. The tournaments played prior to the Australian Open are now going to be held in the city of Melbourne. With the threat of the coronavirus still looming large, it makes sense to avoid travel and to prioritize the major instead.
Usually, players would arrive in Australia in the last week of December. That won’t be the case this season. Players will arrive by the first week of January, preferably by the 8th. Once they would arrive, there would be a mandatory 14-day quarantine period as stated by the Australian Government.

There will be a bubble where the players will reside. Tennis Australia has made it clear that players will be allowed to practice but not be allowed to play any competitive tennis during this duration. Considering that the players will assemble by January 8, this will mean their quarantine period would be over by January 22. This gives a clear indication that this year, the Australian Open should commence from February 1.
It makes sense for players to follow these protocols. To ensure smoothness and avoid any possibility of players contracting the virus such norms should be followed.
