Apple banned Fortnite from the App Store a few weeks back. Epic flouted Apple Store policies of in-app purchases which resulted in the ban. Apple users can no longer download Fortnite. This battle between Epic Games and Apple took the eSports community by storm.  At the moment, there is no news when Apple will let back Fortnite back on the Store.

This move has left many Apple users disheartened and desperate. Some opted to buy iPhones from eBay with Fortnite installed on them. However, this avenue comes with its share of risks. How to download Fortnite on Apple devices again

This method only works if you don’t have the Fortnite app installed on the device, but had it once before.

  1. Go to App Store.
  2. Enter Account, which usually has your Apple ID display photo.
  3. Tap on All Purchases and move on to My Purchases. This will have the list of all the games and apps you have ever downloaded for free or purchased from the App Store
  4. Search ‘Fortnite’ and download it again.

How to download the game on Apple devices for the first time post ban

Curious people out there who want to know what the game is all about can no longer download the game officially. However, there is a way to do this. The solution is Family Sharing. You can link your device with someone in your family. You can do it if you’ve downloaded the game previously. If you haven’t, set up Family Sharing service to proceed.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap your name to enter Apple ID Settings.
  3. Click on Set Up Family Sharing.

After this, go back to the App Store and go to Purchased Apps. Access your family member’s account. Search through their apps to find Fortnite. Download and enjoy.

As of now, neither Apple nor Epic has released a statement as to when we can expect Fortnite to be back. As per reports, the legal fight is well on and things don’t look pretty. Until there is certain news regarding this, Apple users can use the methods above to enjoy the game.
