Tyson Fury made a huge return to boxing in 2018 through his comeback campaign. He since then has only gotten better and risen in the ranks of the WBC.
He currently stands in possession of WBC world title, that he took off Deontay Wilder’s hands this February. The Fury vs Wilder 2 went down at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Tyson Fury put on an absolute dominant fight and finished Wilder off in the 7th round.
Hearn said he missed to opportunity to wrap a deal around Fury. Back in November, when Fury showed up in Monaco to watch Dereck Chisora face Agit Kabayel. Hearn and the 31-year-old failed to strike a deal and Fury was taken in elsewhere.

Fury signed a promotion pact with Frank Warren. His first fight under Warren came in June of 2018 against Sefer Seferi. Fury came out victorious against Seferi and there began his climb to the top.
Hearn admitted to underestimating Fury and his ability to make a comeback. He said, “I had a chance to sign him. I was in Monaco, I think I could have signed him. I didn’t want to give him the fights that he wanted to take at the time, because I thought it was just too much money and the fights weren’t good enough – and I probably should have done it, to be honest with you.”
The reason behind not signing Tyson Fury
Hearn didn’t think Fury had what it took. He continued,” I looked at him and I thought, ‘You ain’t ever going to come back anyway, look at the size of you,’ but he surprised everybody and how wrong I was. Fury is definitely up there, and there are a few others. A few American guys that I probably had the chance to sign as well.”
Hearn currently promotes Anthony Joshua, Fury’s rival. Anthony Joshua holds the WBO, IBF, WBA, IBO title. And both the promotors want to set these two up for a unification bout.

Speaking of the unification bout Hearn said, “There are three people involved with Tyson Fury – MTK, Top Rank and Frank Warren. They’ve kind of like agreed amongst themselves that all three of those must be there and present when we have a proper chat, so at some point, we will have to talk, and I have no problem on the phone, face-to-face. I’m not going to let a fight like that slip away, because we don’t talk.”
So do y’all think the unification bout is a legitimate possibility?
