Top Rank’s Bob Arum spoke to ESPN and revealed huge news for the Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder bout. Chiefly, the trilogy bout was slated for July 18, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused a massive halt in the plans. According to Arum, the trilogy bout is now being targeted for December 19 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The newly erected stadium is home to the NFL franchise, Las Vegas Raiders. Bob Arum expressed his optimism to go ahead with the plan. At a point in time, he was even willing to delay the fight just to ensure fan attendance for the anticipated bout.

“That’s what we’re moving ahead on, on all fronts, with the security, with the virus, and everything. We’re talking with everybody here in town, with the Raiders. So we’re optimistic that we’ll be able to do the event in Nevada, in Las Vegas.”
Additionally, he projected an estimated crowd of anywhere between 10,000 and 15,000 combat sports fans. Such an accommodation would be sensational considering the second fight saw an attendance of just over 17,000 people.
Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder: An Overview
The aforementioned fighters clashed back in December 2018, and the bout went to a draw on the cards. Deontay Wilder was heavily favored in the contest; however, “The Gypsy King” was setting the pace of the bout and was on his way to a decision victory. The second fight fell into Fury’s favor as he earned the stoppage in the seventh round of the fight. The fight marked the first loss of Deontay Wilder’s professional career, and the anticipation for a third fight has only grown. “The Bronze Bomber” can easily swipe Fury’s momentum and slide into a unification bout with Anthony Joshua.
Fans of the sport will look forward to attending the highly-anticipated showdown. Furthermore, it is one of the first live events that has been targeted to have an audience. The bout may very well be the last time the aforementioned combatants square off against each other in their prime.
