Venus Williams On Retirement
In 2017, Venus Williams did an interview with the WTA. There she was asked whether she had a particular timeline for her tennis career as she was already one of the oldest players on the Tour at the time. She replied to this by saying,
“I don’t think there is like a limit or a maximum to how much I can play, I don’t necessarily have a plan. I am not planning on quitting is probably the best way to say this.”
While this was Williams’ opinion in 2017, it may even be her opinion now. She loves playing the sport and if she is going to retire, she will retire after she achieves one goal of hers – another Grand Slam title.

Venus won her last Grand Slam back in 2008. She has come close on numerous occasions ever since like reaching the final of 2017 Australian Open and Wimbledon, but sadly she lost both of those finals. She will definitely be looking to win one more Major to close out her career in style.
Venus will have to wait for a while to do this as the WTA Tour has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully, the virus is contained by July and we can see the sport resume soon after. Hopefully, Venus Williams can win another Grand Slam to close her career.
