A very recent example is his views on Jon Jone’s latest arrest. He feels that “Bones” Jones should give up the “God-worshipping” routine, and go back to being “savage”. Even though he made this clear immediately after the arrest of Jones, he felt the need to reiterate his point of view in his latest Tweet.

Of course, people don’t like “hearing this”! No one likes any sort of promotion of irrational behavior. Let alone serious crimes like DWI and negligent use of a firearm.

“Jon Jones is the G.O.A.T. inside the MMA octagon”- Darren Till

It is very clear that Darren Till does not like to see Jon Jones suffering social outrage. He believes that whatever Jon Jones is outside the octagon does not matter, at least not to him.

Darren Till released a video on YouTube giving his opinion on what happened with Jon Jones. Here’s what he had to say:

But he[Jones] But…. he’s beat[en] all of these guys. You know what Jon Jones is about, mate. I don’t really like on the outside, people’s personal lives.”

Well, Till is not wrong. Jon Jones is widely accepted as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. In fact, every hardcore MMA fan would agree that the young, beast-of-a-man Jon Jones who held nothing back was the best thing that ever happened to MMA.

But, while Till’s stance on this as a fellow UFC fighter is appreciable, the other side of the coin calls to his responsibility as a celebrity.

It is an unsaid rule that when you’re given a platform, you must exercise it for social good. Especially for raising awareness about social justice.

This is something that The Gorilla could have done, had he adhered to his celebrity status. Nevertheless, as he said, everyone’s got an opinion. Or, in his own words, “Opinions are like a**holes. Everyone’s got one.”

What do you think about Darren Till’s take on Jon Jones?
