“I Feel More Like Me When I Have Beard”: Stefanos Tsitsipas

Rising tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas reveals that he is grateful to the changes which came in his life recently and will keep those changes as it is.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has grown some beard in recent times and the Greek Gun suggests that he feels like him when he keeps the beard and he has no plans to remove the beard anytime soon.

In an interview at the ongoing Swiss Indoors Basel 2019 Tsitsipas said: “There has been a certain change in my life. And I decided, in order to feel grateful for that change, to keep it. It’s not a lucky charm, I just like it this way. I feel more like me when I have a beard.”

Earlier, the 21-year-old revealed that the first-round loss at the US Open 2019 was the best thing happened to him as he learned to be himself after spending some time off the court in New York.

 

“It was my decision to live life how I wanted to, not how others wanted me to. There was a time last summer when I doubted myself, thought that I wasn’t interesting as a person. I wanted to be someone else, but now I understand that it’s awesome to be myself,” Tsitsipas said.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was subjugated by the 20-time Grand Slam champion, Roger Federer in the semifinals of the ongoing Swiss Indoors Basel 2019 on Saturday as the 38-year-old dispatched the Greek gun in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in just 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The 21-year-old will now head towards the last Masters 1000 event of the season – Rolex Paris Masters 2019, where he will open up against the winner between the American compatriots, Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz in the second round after receiving a bye in the first round.

He is also partnering with Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in the doubles in Paris and will face the Russian team – Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev in the opening round.

Later, Stefanos Tsitsipas will also make a debut at the Nitto ATP Finals in London in November.
