John Isner is one of the big names who will be participating in the crazy innovation being displayed by the Mutua Madrid Open. The tournament will be held in the virtual format this time with tennis players turning gamers.

In fact, the tournament has already announced an elite list of players who have confirmed their participation. Apart from Isner, these include Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Angelique Kerber and a host of other stars. All of them will be vying to win the inaugural virtual Madrid Open.

John Isner is delighted to be a participant in this novel initiative. However, he is not very sure of his abilities with a game controller. The American star etched out his dilemma with a hilarious comparison that he drew for his followers.

What did John Isner say? 

John Isner revealed that he has no chance of advancing in this unique tournament. In fact, he has better chances in dethroning Rafael Nadal at the French Open than claiming this title.

“I have a better shot at winning the French open than I do this. I will try hard though. Thank you @MutuaMadridOpen for the opportunity and innovation.”

The top stars are very invested in making this a success. They also realize that they are not able to give their fans their dose of yearly tennis. That’s why they are working so hard to pull out all the stops and to make this happen.

However, their initiative won’t just stop at providing some good tennis action to the fans. The proceeds from the event will be going towards COVID-19 relief and to help those players who are suffering economically due to the cancellation of tennis.

Obviously, this is a great way to do something nice for everyone involved. When everyone cooperates to pull tennis out of this bog then surely results will start following. Which other tournament would you like to see go virtual after the tremendous initiative by Madrid?
