In a recent live chat with her husband Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams talked about how she has seen things differently because of the color of her skin. She said,
“You see things differently because of the color of your skin. I’m just telling you my view, and when you get to see it from my point of view, it’s just totally different. There have been so many situations I’ve been in where I’ve just had to take the high road, even to this day.”

The 23-time Grand Slam Champion went on to talk about how despite seeing things differently, she is still proud of the color of her skin. She said,
“I’m proud, I’ve always been proud to be who I am, to be black. And I just feel like I wouldn’t be who I am, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am, I wouldn’t have been able to be as amazing I have been so far in my career, I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t black.”
Serena Williams has not been the only one to address the topic of racism. In fact, her sister Venus also addressed this topic in a long message on Instagram. Clearly, there are many people raising their voices in support of the ongoing protest. But there are also people who are against it.

This is because of the property damage and looting that has happened as part of the protests. John Isner was one of the people not happy about this and said that the people involved should be arrested.
We are seeing many celebrities raise their voices in support of the protest or to oppose it. And we can expect more to do so in the future.
