The Tokyo Olympics 2021 will happen during the coronavirus pandemic and hence there are many restrictions in place. One restriction has that athletes cannot bring any of their family members to Tokyo.
But now the organizers have taken a decision because of heavy backlash and hence allowed nursing mothers to bring their children. And USWNT stalwart, Alex Morgan has given her opinion on the matter.

Moreover, she has alleged that she has not been updated on the new protocols. And she scheduled to depart for Tokyo in one week.
“Still not sure what “when necessary” even means. Is that determined by the mother or the IOC? We are Olympic mothers telling you, it is NECESSARY.
“I have not been contacted about being able to bring my daughter with me to Japan and we leave in 7 days,” Alex Morgan tweeted.

What did the Tokyo Olympics 2021 organizers say?
“Given that the Tokyo 2020 Games will take place during a pandemic, overall we must, unfortunately, decline to permit athletes’ family members or other companions to accompany them to the Games.
“However, after careful consideration of the unique situation facing athletes with nursing children, we are pleased to confirm that, when necessary, nursing children will be able to accompany athletes to Japan,” the statement from the organizers.
Alex Morgan’s USWNT is a huge favorite to win the gold at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. She is a star striker for the soccer team having netted 110 goals in 178 appearances.
She is already an Olympic gold medallist having clinched the gold at the 2012 London Olympics. Moreover, she is also a two-time winner of the prestigious FIFA World Cup as well.
