“I Was Cruisin’ for Babes…”: WWE Legend Hulk Hogan Once Revealed How He Met His First Wife Linda

Hulk Hogan had a captivating personality, since his inception, into professional wrestling. The 12-time champion has a deep voice and a commanding presence, which never lets him down in front of the lady fans. However, The Hulkster’s innate charm failed in front of his first wife, Linda Hogan. Even the iconic horseshoe mustache couldn’t help the pro wrestler. However, Hogan had an ace up his sleeve to seal the deal. No one denies that Hollywood Hogan’s role in Rocky III as ‘Thunderlips’ earned him quite the praise from fans of WWE. But it also helped solidify his image as a household star, along with getting him popular among ladies.

Hulk Hogan saw championship material in Linda Hogan

In an old interview on Tonight’s show with Jay Leno, Hogan narrated the awkward tale of how he met his first wife, Linda Hogan. The host asked whether she was into wrestling, and Hogan replied, “No she wasn’t. she was uh a manicurist in the valley. and I just finished the Rocky III movie and all of a sudden I was in a place called the red onion… I was cruisin’ for babes.”

There, the professional wrestler laid his eyes on her and knew she was different from the rest. Moreover, Hogan described her as “championship material“, when he first laid eyes on her. He approached her “And I said “Hi would you like to have a drink’ and she says ‘No.’” and got shot down the first time.

But Hogan’s persistence paid off in the end.

Hollywood Hogan finally gets the girl of his dreams

Mr. America usually expects an affirmative response, from a girl he likes. However, this time, The WWE Legend had to work hard for it. As Linda turned Hogan’s initial proposal down because she wasn’t entirely familiar with the wrestler. But, after Hogan approached her again, she recognized him for his role as ‘Thunderlips’ in the blockbuster film, Rocky III. And that’s when she agreed to go out with Hogan.

The rest, as they say, is history. The couple tied the knot in 1983 and had two kids, Brooke Hogan and Nick Hogan. Even though they were married for over two decades, Linda and Hulk Hogan couldn’t make it work. They filed for divorce in 2007, which was finalized in 2009.
