Sebastian Vettel wrote to his Ferrari colleagues thanking them for their efforts in 2018 and letting them know he’ll be pushing harder in the new year.
“Dear boys, a big ‘thank you’ to all of you. Even if we have not managed to take the title to Maranello, we can at least say that we have done our best and continue to do so. Roll up sleeves and let us support each other in all areas. Better communication with trust and mutual respect,” Vettel wrote.
“Only by working together as a team can we take that step. We are a fantastic team when it comes to commitment and enthusiasm and I promise you that I will do everything I can to achieve the big goal in 2019. Thanks again, Sebastian.”

Vettel is now the only driver on the grid who does not use social media. Without Twitter and Facebook, the 31-year-old has resorted to a more old-fashioned method, letter-writing.

Previously, Vettel and Raikkonen were the only drivers not on social media. But last year, Raikkonen relented and opened an Instagram account. In an instant, he received millions of followers and everyone enjoys getting small sneak peeks at his life away from the circuit.

However, Vettel values his privacy and adamantly refuses to join social media. The letter to Ferrari isn’t the only one he has sent. He had previously written to Austrian legend Niki Lauda while the latter was recovering from a lung transplant.

Sebastian Vettel even wrote to a fan in response to an earlier letter. A young kart driver and Vettel fan, by the name of Spencer, sent the German a letter. The 4-time world champion displayed his humility by sending a personal letter, autographed cards and a signed cap in response.
Vettel’s letter to Ferrari was written in Italian, naturally and promises that he will fight in 2019.
