Over the years, Swiss maestro Roger Federer has established himself as a true ambassador of the sport. His dedication in the past two decades has helped him achieve some of the biggest accolades in this beautiful game. Although he has enjoyed tremendous success on the various surfaces, the grass-court is his most preferred choice.
Recently, Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime spoke about the Swiss ace and his wish of playing against the legend on the courts at Wimbledon. Interestingly, they both are born on the same day, the 8th of August. He went on to discuss the strategy he’d employ if he were to ever come across Roger Federer on the grass courts.
The 20-year-old stated, “Of course, there have been other amazing players who have played on grass like Roger [Federer] as well, and I think Roger would be pretty exciting from the videos I have watched of him. He is such a special and exciting player to watch and I think it would be cool to play him in an event like Wimbledon.”

Felix Auger-Aliassime has plans when he faces Roger Federer
Usually, it is the Swiss star who dictates the game while playing against his opponent. Well, Felix has other plans and would like to put himself in place of Roger and wishes to be the one controlling the points. He would mix his game up and not just play from the baseline.
The Canadian added, “I would like to dictate because he is going to try and mix it up and come to the net and put pressure on me. I would try and dictate the points and not react to what he is doing to me and play with my stronger shot on his weaker shot and expose that. If I am playing him now, I will try and make him move. If I had to play him it would be two opposing styles.”
