In 2020, Spain’s Rafael Nadal conquered Roland Garros for the 13th time in his glittering career. As a result, he equaled the record of Roger Federer‘s 20 Grand Slam titles. Next up, at the Paris Masters, Nadal registered his 1000th ATP match win.

Citing the threat he could pose, Nadal said, “Yeah, I know it gonna be a tough one. I know I need to play at my highest level. If not, is almost impossible and I hope to be ready to make that happen.”

Rafael Nadal Not Taking Things For Granted

The Spaniard played against Medvedev at this event last year. He came back from a set down to eventually win the match in three sets. Not undermining his opponent, Rafa further said. “I know it’s a different story. He’s playing great. I think last year he was very tired mentally at the end of the season. I think this year is a different story. He has plenty of confidence.”

Nadal booked a spot in the semi-final following a win over Tsitsipas last evening. He has made it to this stage for the first time since 2015. On the other side, Medvedev blocked Djokovic, beating him convincingly in straight sets. They now await each other in the semi-finals on Saturday.
