Santiago Ponzinibbio is extremely eager to fight at the upcoming UFC 249. The Welterweight fighter responded to Tyron Woodley’s social media post informing that he granted executive permission to his team to secure a fight at UFC 249. He said he was, “training like a machine, ready to walk through someone.” He asked for Colby Covington in his post. However ‘Chaos’ fractured his jaw and as per ‘Gente Boa’ he may not be ready in 2 weeks. The Argentine fighter came up with an interesting offer.

Ponzinibbio offers to fight Woodley at UFC 249

‘The Chosen One’s post prompted ‘Gente Boa’ to campaign for the bout. He took to Twitter and wrote, Just saw on the media that Tyron Woodley is saying he’s ready to fight at UFC 249, that he’s training and ready to do the main event, so I’m here. I’m ready to take this fight. I’d be happy to do this main event and knock him out in the first round. This is my fight. In two weeks, I’m in.”

‘Gente Boa’ claims Woodley only takes easy fights and presented an argument about why he should be considered easy. He said the fight is a great opportunity for ‘The Chosen one’. In addition to enticing his opponent to sign the contract, he also taunted him saying, “I’ll still beat the sh*t out of him and knock him out in the first round.

In conclusion, ‘Gente Boa’ offered to fight with an arm tied behind his back as well. “I’ll fight with one arm tied behind my back if he wants. Let’s see if he’s man enough to take this fight.”

‘Gente Boa’ is on a 7 fight win streak stretching back to 2015. He has not set foot inside the Octagon since November 2018. He defeated Neil Magny via knockout and claimed the Performance of the Night at the event.

‘The Chosen One’ last fought in March 2019 where Kamanru Usman snapped his 7 fight win streak. He was to make his return to the Octagon at UFC London on March 21. Unfortunately, the event was canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

It remains to be seen where UFC 249 will be held and who will fight at the event. Do you think both fighters will end their lengthy layoffs at the event?
