Nick Kyrgios has again waged his dissatisfaction with the US Open organizers on twitter. On Monday it was confirmed by Forbes that the US Open would take place as per schedule despite the pandemic. And the news didn’t go well with many of the A-listers. Kyrgios in a tweet this morning bashed the organizers of the US Open and sarcastically said he has his ‘Hazmat Suit’ ready to travel from Australia.

“People that live in the US of course are pushing the Open to go ahead. ‘Selfish’. I’ll get my hazmat suit ready for when I travel from Australia and then have to quarantine for 2 weeks on my return.” said Kyrgios in his latest tweet.

This isn’t the first time Kyrgios has raised issues regarding the US Open. Just 3 days back he tweeted that the ATP officials were being selfish to conduct the US Open. The situation in the US with the pandemic and the riots needs to be taken care of first.

“The ATP is trying to make the US Open go ahead. Selfish with everything going on at the moment, Obviously COVID, but also with the riots, together we need to overcome these challenges before tennis returns in my opinion,” he tweeted

Although Nick Kyrgios can say anything out of the blue given his erratic nature, his concerns are resonating with the other players as well. It could well happen that the Big 3 don’t make it to Flushing Meadows. Roger Federer has been ruled out of the 2020 Season due to knee surgery. Defending champion Rafael Nadal isn’t ready to travel to the US given the situation. And the World No.1 Novak Djokovic has expressed his uncertainties regarding the quarantine rules.

Gloomy and tough paths ahead for Tennis. With only one grand slam held and Wimbledon canceled, 2020 hasn’t been sweet. The United States has the most number of Corona Virus cases in the world and coupled with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ riots have made the US a no go for a lot of players and coaches. While the big stars’ attendance in limbo, this could turn out very well for the next-gen and the smaller players as we could see a new champion.
