UFC Welterweight Fighter Jorge Masvidal’s state is similar to many people in the world. He is isolated at home, waiting for the pandemic to tide over. However, he revealed that he is training regularly and staying ready for a fight. ‘Gamebred’ is expected to be the next challenger for Kamaru Usman’s Welterweight Championship. The BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal had a chat with Adam Catterall of BT Sport and spoke at length on a variety of topics.

Jorge Masvidal taunts Kamaru Usman

“Parts of it yes, parts of it no. A fight is more than just the guy you have in front of you. It’s also the moment, to be fighting for the UFC title, that’s huge. But the skillset…no my brother. This animal hunter has tamed much more ferocious animals and wild beasts than this mere insect in front of him. So as far as skill level goes no. On that night this matador will tame the wild animal,” says Masvidal.

‘Gamebred’ was asked about the challenge brought by Usman to the game. The BMF asked Catterall to repeat himself and paused before firing yet another taunt at ‘The Nigerian Nightmare.’

“He doesn’t know when to strike and he doesn’t fully commit to wrestling either. He is a ****** stall machine who will go for a takedown. But he’ll quickly find out I’ll never get held down by the guy. I won’t get held down by that guy. I’ll put my life on it.”

The fight is eagerly awaited as the duo started taunting each other even before it is made official. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has beaten both top-ranked Welterweight contenders. The 3rd ranked ‘Gamebred’ is his next opponent and Usman has said he wants him next. The BMF Champion is yet to fight since his TKO win over Nate Diaz last November. He won the symbolic BMF Championship on the night.

Could we see the duo clash at an event on Dana White’s Fight Island?

The location which originally was set to conduct international fights will now see all UFC fights held there. This is because ESPN’s top executives asked White to stand down and not hold the UFC event on tribal land at the Tachi Palace Casino Resort.
