The Mayweather family received tragic news recently. Floyd Mayweather Jr‘s long-time personal assistant Markikit Laurico passed away. The news has sent shockwaves throughout the Mayweather household, and the whole family can’t believe what has happened. Laurico was an imperative part of Mayweather Jr’s professional and personal life. The duo traveled the world together. And she was seen at all the events with Mayweather Jr. The whole family developed a good relationship with her. This loss is incomprehensible for the Mayweather family, and the pain can only be imagined.

Mayweather family remembers Laurico

Numerous members of the Mayweather family took to Instagram to share the news with the world and their sorrow over this news. Iyanna Mayweather remembered Laurcio and shared numerous memorable pictures and videos of her with the late Markikit Laurico. The 47-year-old joined hands with Mayweather Jr a long time ago. Hence, it is safe to say that she was an important figure when all the Mayweather kids were growing up.

Mayweather Jr’s other daughter Jinah Mayweather shared the Instagram post put up by Iyanna and wrote, “this is unreal.” And she further shared a photo of Laurico with herself, saying, “you’ll truly be missed.” It seems like the whole family can still not process this devastating news and is in distress due to this tremendous loss.

Melissia Brim, Mayweather Jr’s ex-girlfriend, and his ‘baby mother,’ also took to Instagram to share a series of pictures and videos with Laurico. By sharing all these memorable moments with her, Brim also wrote a heart-wrenching message for her. She wrote, “Kitchie, I just wanted to say how broken my heart is right now. You were definitely a blessing in my life & my family’s as well. We were just sitting ringside last weekend, laughing & talking about how blessed we were.”

Last month, Brim also remembered Josie Harris on her death anniversary. With the whole family expressing their sorrow, Mayweather Jr is yet to make a public statement.

Who was Merikit Laurico?

It can be said that the life story of Laurico is not a smooth sail. She emigrated to the United States at the age of 11. She then went on to study Marketing and public relations in her college. Her first meeting with Mayweather Jr was out of luck. But Mayweather saw something special in her and asked her to become his assistant.

The two shared a strong relationship. And she was an important part of Mayweather Jr’s life. Reportedly, she passed away due to natural causes after suffering from a heart attack.
