Joe Rogan has struck gold with Spotify, as he signed with them to air his podcast exclusively on their platform.
Joe Rogan currently runs a hugely popular podcast on YouTube called “Joe Rogan Experience”. This podcast was launched on the 24th of December 2009 by Rogan and comedian Brian Redban, who also produced and co-hosted.
Since its launch, the podcast gained great momentum and is currently one of the more popular podcasts out there. He has attracted 8.4 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel “Powerful JRE” with over 2.1 billion views. Even his side-channel “JRE Clips” that airs snippets has 4.46 million followers, with 2.79 billion views from nearly 5,000 videos.

Joe Rogan makes an official announcement
Joe Rogan has now come to an agreement with the streaming platform Spotify. On September 2020, he will air his first episode on their platform. This multi-year licensing deal is valued at $100 million, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Speaking about his deal, Joe Rogan said, “I’m excited to have the support of the largest audio platform in the world and I hope you folks are there when we make the switch! It will remain free and it will be the exact same show. It’s just a licensing deal, so Spotify won’t have any creative control. They want me to just continue doing it the way I’m doing it right now.”

Rogan clarified that the podcast is not been compromised. Everything, including the creative rights, content, and shoot team will stay the same. He has only switched the streaming platform.

He also said, “I am not going to be an employee of Spotify, we’re going to be working with the same crew. The only difference being it will now be available on the largest audio platform in the world. Nothing else will change.”
