The ‘Triple C’, Henry Cejudo has hit back at UFC 250 opponent Jose Aldo’s scathing comments. The Brazilian claimed that he only needed a week of training to beat Cejudo for the UFC Bantamweight Championship. He also said that making weight was a more pressing concern.

F***, I only need a week of training to beat Cejudo. I’m more worried about making weight than fighting him. I can be off camp, on vacation, but if you put me in the Octagon with him, I beat him with an eye closed,” claimed Aldo.

These were quite tough words from Aldo who lost his only fight in the Bantamweight division. His opponent, on the other hand, has been ruthless with back to back TKO wins in his last 2 fights. One of which was against Marlon Morales.

The two-division champion did not take his opponent’s words kindly. He wrote on Twitter, “I’m going to make you eat your words. I’ll be honored to give you your pink slip from the UFC because I’m about to retire you! I’m serving stinky, burnt goat on May 9th.”

Cejudo certainly has the record and the form in his favor to back such a statement against Aldo. Conor McGregor ended Aldo’s 10-year undefeated streak almost 5 years ago in the Featherweight division.

This was not the first shot Cejudo took at his opponent. Just over 2 weeks ago, he shared an image with his Brazilian girlfriend Amanda Dallago Cheves. The caption took a shot at Aldo. It said that all Brazilians are with Cejudo and even made fun of Aldo being bald.

Is The Fight Still on?

The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted sporting schedules all over the world. However, the UFC 250 is not officially canceled. Dana White seems quite certain to go ahead with all of his major events as we are seeing with UFC 249. However,  UFC 250 is in Sao Paolo which is Brazil’s worst affected city by the pandemic.

The stadiums in the city have been turned into hospitals to provide patients and healthcare professionals with the space to recover and provide treatment respectively. The city would certainly look to prioritize healthcare over a sporting event. White may have to find another venue for this event too.

Even if UFC cancels the fight, the fans can take exchanges from Aldo and Cejudo’s intense social media banter.
