Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer hit a huge six during the second T20 of the India vs Sri Lanka 2020 series at the Holkar Stadium, Indore.
The monstrous hit came in the 16th over being bowled by Wanidu Hasaranga. India were chasing a target of 143 runs and had already got 115 runs with the loss of just two wickets. Shreyas Iyer was batting on 27 along with his captain Virat Kohli when he brought out the hit that impressed the captain as much as it did everybody else in the ground. For a fullish delivery from Hasaranga, Iyer smacked it straight down the ground that almost went onto the roof of the stadium.

The victory was very much set up by the Indian bowlers who didn’t let the Sri Lankan batsman score freely. Navdeep Saini was adjudged the man of the match for taking two wickets and conceding just 18 runs in his spell of four overs. His fiery spell involved a fast yorker to remove Danushka Gunathilaka.

“I practised well and I was confident. It’s important to be confident and it’s also important to use the variations. I was more happy to take a wicket with the yorker (wicket of Danushka Gunathilaka),” Saini said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
“I am gaining confidence with both white-ball and red-ball. When I made my T20I debut, I wanted to bowl fast, but now I know the importance of the slower deliveries.”
