Dominic Thiem will advance into the semifinals of the masters 100 tournament in Indian Wells 2019. Thiem was given a free pass into the semis when the French showman Gael Monfils withdrew from their quarterfinal match-up citing a badly strained Achilles tendon in his left leg. Thiem will now face Milos Raonic, who leads their head to head 2-0.
“I tried to warm up and my left Achilles was very painful since a couple days, and this morning was really tough for me, to run 100 per cent, and tonight I tried to hit a little bit, and I cannot compete 100 per cent tonight,” said Gael Monfils, as he was interviewed on stadium 1 at the Indian Wells 2019, leaving his fans disappointed who were eagerly waiting for his match.

Monfils has been spectacular form of late, and will be disappointed with his withdrawal after a deep run at the Indian Wells 2019 tournament. This will of course cast doubts on his inclusion in the main draw of the Miami masters.
