After the ‘Fedal’ halt at the Indian Wells 2019, Novak Djokovic along with some legendary tennis players stole the show. The organisers of the Indian Wells 2019 had set up an entertaining match for the spectators in the desert and valued the money they spent. The legendary tennis players, John McEnroe and Tommy Haas had teamed up against another set of legends, Pete Sampras and Novak Djokovic to play a doubles exhibition match at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

The World Number one tennis player, Novak Djokovic fulfilled the absence of his two colleagues by entertaining the audience at the Indian Wells 2019. His reign in the Californian desert was concluded by the German Philipp Kohlschreiber in the third round which turned out to be Kohlschreiber’s first win against a World Number tennis player.

The excitement was not scheduled but after Federer addressed his fans in the desert and then the audience was surprised. Djokovic and Sampras lost to Haas and McEnroe 4-3(4). The American comedian, Jon Lovitz was appointed as the chair umpire for the match and the actor Ben Stiller was present in the stands. “The old guys,” Stiller joked around by seeing the legends play tennis.

“After we heard Rafa wasn’t going to be able to play, we wanted to make sure our fans got something fun,” Haas, the tournament director said. “We started making some calls and Novak was willing to come over. Pete was here for the Raonic and Thiem match, and John is in town because he is making an announcement with BNP Paribas tomorrow. They all just said, ‘how can I help?’ And that shows what incredible people they are.”

The masters final of the ATP is scheduled to take place between Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem. And on the WTA circuit, Angelique Kerber will be taking on the World Number 60, Bianca Andreescu.
