Today, the Arrow Mclaren team reveals the 2020 IndyCar challenger of Fernando Alonso. The No. 66 vehicle is being entered by McLaren in association with Ruoff Mortgage.
The Spaniard will endeavor the race for the third time this year. He made his debut in the race in 2017. He was on his way for the race win before his Honda engine stopped. The run of Fernando Alonso was in a joint effort with Andretti and Honda. He qualified fifth and directed 27 laps before retiring because of a motor failure.
This will be the vehicle Fernando Alonso will endeavor to attempt the final step of the ‘Triple Crown’ at the 2020 Indianapolis 500. Alonso said, “I’m very happy to finally see the car which I will race in the Indianapolis 500. We had to wait longer than usual to release the livery but that means that engines will be starting soon in Indianapolis.”
After that, He added, “I’m confident that Arrow McLaren SP will be competitive. The team has the right experience, well-qualified people, and great resources.”
A year ago, McLaren entered the race with Fernando Alonso. However, he failed to make it to the grid. He was out of the qualifying by Juncos Racing and Kyle Kaiser.
The Indy 500 this year will happen on August 23rd. It has been deferred from its date not long ago due to the coronavirus pandemic. McLaren has three drivers in the race this year. Fernando Alonso will team up with full-time Arrow McLaren SP drivers Patricio O’Ward and Oliver Askew.
Fernando Alonso was supposed to be running more IndyCar races than simply the Indy 500 this year. Anyway, the coronavirus emergency has caused McLaren to reexamine its arrangements for the 2020 season.
The IndyCar Series will proceed with this end of the week at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the GMR Grand Prix, following the opening round of the season prior this month at the Texas Motors Speedway. McLaren figured out to get done with one vehicle inside the main ten, with the help of Askew who completed the race in the eighth spot.
