INTENSE: Zelim Imadaev Shoves Michel Pereira in the Face During UFC Vegas 9 Weigh-Ins

UFC Vegas 9, which set for September 4, witnessed a controversial moment between Zelim Imadaev and Michel Pereira during weigh-ins.

Imadaev shoved Pereira in the face and truly shows how much is at stake for both fighters. Imadaev and Pereira have suffered losses in the UFC in the past.

Pereira has only won once in the UFC and has lost his other fights in the promotion. Imadaev is still winless in the promotion.

Both men have their UFC career’s on the line and it’s certainly a very personal bout. Pereira is nearing towards the end of his UFC current.
This is probably the veteran’s last bout in the UFC, thus making a win all the more necessary.

“I’m getting old guys and that was a quick one. That was on me. They were getting aggressive going towards each other. But i didn’t think it would escalate that quickly,” said Dana White when quizzed about the incident.

Imadaev who is relatively inexperienced is yet to prove his potential and worth in the UFC. He has suffered losses at the highest level, and one more defeat will set him back in terms of the opportunities he receives. However, he can produce an impressive performance similar to what he has done in the past. He has knocked out multiple opponents during his days on the independent circuit.

Pereira lost his last fight due to an illegal knee. However, the Brazilian was dominating Diego Sanchez up to that point. Also, Pereira is the more experienced fighter and is good on the ground as well.

Imadaev has a lot of raw power and is an excellent kickboxer. Also, Imadaev is a decent grappler and is good at holding top-control.

Both fighters are equally matched, however, Pereira is the favorite heading into the fight. He’s capable of insane knockouts and is a very tricky fighter.

Imadaev will have to finish the fight early if he wishes to emerge victorious. However, if the fight goes into the latter rounds, Pereira could take advantage and secure the victory.
