‘Rolly’ Romero maintained his innocence in face of the allegations. He said“Although the allegations against me are totally false and I will prove that through the legal system, I agree that it is in the best interest of everyone involved that I not participate in the upcoming pay-per-view event. After clearing my name I will return to the ring as soon as possible.”

Given this latest development, many casual fans may want to know more about Isaac Cruz.

Who is Isaac Cruz?

Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz is a 23-year-old lightweight contender and the #2 ranked IBF title contender. He faced former champion, Francisco Vargas, in his last fight in June.

Cruz was already in line for a shot against both Davis and Teofimo Lopez. He is a gritty, aggressive, and dirty fighter; the kind that Davis has yet to encounter.

This will prove to be a tough matchup for Davis as Cruz is not just another last-minute replacement to the fight. The Mexican has what it takes to trouble the best in the world. The pure grit and aggression he brings to the ring is second to none. Hence, it will be interesting to watch how Davis will take on such a fighter.
