Russia’s powerhouse Daniil Medvedev has made a mark in men’s tennis. In the last couple of years, he along with Dominic Thiem has continued to impress. The Russian reached the semi-final at this year’s US Open without dropping a set, only to be a victim on the Austrian’s road to glory.
Off the court, Daniil has enjoyed a fair bit of success. He has endorsement deals with Lacoste, Tecnifibre, and BMW. Recently he extended his partnership with Lacoste.
They announced, “Lacoste is proud to announce the renewal of the contract with rising tennis star Daniil Medvedev until 2026. In the essence of the brand’s founder, it is his elegance of play and his spirit that Lacoste wishes to transmit through the extension of his contract.”
Lacoste only signed him up in March 2019; the fact that he has received an extension in such a short span of time is commendable.
Daniil Medvedev stamps authority
He lost to the Spanish sensation Rafael Nadal in a nail-biting encounter. In the latter part of 2019, Medvedev made it to 6 finals in a row. He managed to end the season on a high, winning the first 2 titles after the US Open final.
In 2020, there was not much tennis played due to the pandemic that brought the world to a complete standstill. He did manage to win at the Rolex Paris Masters beating two Top-10 ranked players.
With the last event of this season beginning on Sunday, Daniil would certainly like to sum it up with a title at the ATP World Tour Finals. For a title is the best way to cap 2020 off.
