USA sprinter Gabby Thomas was surprised to see herself under the 21.70-second mark in the US Olympic trials. Her happiness in qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and becoming a medal contender came as she had gotten the good news regarding a tumor before the trials.
Before the US Olympic trials, Gabby Thomas had unusual hamstring pain. Later after various tests, it was found that she had a tumor in her liver. Now a tumor is of three kinds based on whether they are cancerous or not. Most of the tumors are non-cancerous but still hearing the word cancer can give anxiety to many. Thomas needed additional tests to know if it was cancerous and during that tense period she had to train as well.
