Nick Kyrgios is not your average tennis player. The mannerisms adopted by the Australian star/ are pretty unique when compared to his compatriots.

He usually has a mean streak in his game coupled with iotas of aggression that make him look more like a combat artist. While sometimes this works in his favour, at other times quite the opposite.

Nick was recently asked a very interesting question. What will he change with tennis if he was incharge?

Nick had an expectedly wild answer.

What Did Nick Kyrgios Say?

Nick Kyrgios revealed that his main focus would be on adding more theatrics to the sport and making it more palatable for the average audience.

“I think just the little things, like adding music between points, change events, I think getting the fans more involved.”

Kyrgios even specified how the fans can be attracted to the sport and make them emotionally invested. He used the atmosphere around his Wimbledon match with Rafael Nadal as an example.

“I think there needs to be more rivalries. For instance, the match where I played Rafa at Wimbledon just recently. I think they kinda hyped that match up. It was like a boxing match, I think that was really cool.”

Finally, Kyrgios admitted that he might not be the best person to be given that amount of power.

“Actually, I don’t think I’ll be good with all that power, I’d make a lot of changes.”

What Is The Future For Nick?

Kyrgios will carry the Australian hopes at the Australian Open 2020. After the withdrawal of their top prospect Alex De Minaur, Nick Kyrgios remains their best chance.

His performance at the ATP Cup certainly inspired some confidence. However, in the finals he was crushed by Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets.

To gain success, he needs to prove that he’s capable of performing constantly at the highest level.
