Ever since its release, Valorant has stomped its position as one of the best multiplayer shooters in the world today. The game is shining bright in the Esports scene and has prompted many professional players to even switch careers. Founder & CEO of Complexity Gaming had his own opinion about the 5v5 tactical shooter and frankly, his points are hard to argue with.

Riot Games aimed big with Valorant. The game globally released back in June of this year. It was immediately looked upon as a challenger for the established CS: GO. Looking at the way Valorant is growing, the game has a big chance of actually being the biggest in years to come.

Jason Lake talks about Valorant

Jason Lake posted on Twitter to give his opinion about the game. He has been playing Valorant for over three weeks now. Lake termed the game as fun but mentioned that it needs some work even though he is aware it’s still fairly new.

The founder of Complexity certainly knows what he’s talking about. The American Esports organization has a vested interest in some of the biggest competitive games on the planet. Complexity Gaming holds a strong fort in many titles and its founder giving insight on the new one is always beneficial.

Lake also stated that the peeker’s advantage is very ‘real’. This necessarily means that aggressive moving players have a certain advantage over their opponents, thanks to the travel time between the player and game servers.

He also termed the ping to be bad. That coming from him is a bold statement and something that Riot should look into. A higher ping is in no way attractive and players would agree.

Jason Lake also called for a nerf for one of the agents and named Reyna. The developers are looking to nerf other agents but Reyna is overpowered if you know your way around with her.

Other tweaks

In a subsequent tweet, Lakes also mentioned that matchmaking needs to get better. At the moment, the game matches players based on the ELO rating rather than rank-based. Debating over that is a tough task. Matching up skilled players with other similarly skilled ones does seem good on paper, but does it work for everyone?

Lake also called for another game mode to be added among Standard, Spike Rush, and Competitive. More game modes are always fun and Riot could likely bring in some after a while. Although, there is no official confirmation for the same.

Complexity Gaming CEO also was of the opinion that Riot should focus on improving the game before releasing other agents. As per Anna Donlon, the developers plan to release a total of 6 agents over a year.

That being said, a new agent, Killjoy, is set to drop with the new patch. Lake’s opinion is understandable, and he is partially true about a map. Players have complained that some maps in the game require some rework. It’s best to believe Riot has a plan up its sleeves.

“It’ll never be CS, but it’s nice to have another fun FPS!”

Valorant can never be Counter Strike, that is indeed true. The games are different in a lot of ways and both have their own fair share of fun elements. End of the day that is what matters. We hope Riot takes notice of his opinion and makes the tweaks that most believe are needed.
