Back in 2018, Roger Federer left Nike and signed a deal with Uniqlo. However, he still continued to wear Nike shoes in matches even though he had no official agreement with them. Now that Roger has released a sneaker line up with On, many people are wondering whether he will switch from Nike. In a recent appearance on the Business of Fashion Podcast, Federer answered this question and said,

“The thing about performance shoes: it’s got to fit absolutely perfectly. I do believe that probably one day I will play with an On tennis shoe. That’s got to be the goal, I believe. If it’s still going to be while I’m still active or not? We’ll have to see if we’re going to make it in time.”

Clearly, Roger does not know when he will wear tennis shoes by On. But whenever he does wear those shoes, it is going to be after 2021. This is because the Swiss Maestro has ended his 2020 season as he underwent a second knee surgery after undergoing one at the start of the year.

Federer said that he is taking this break to be at 100% when he returns in 2021. Many people thought he might retire due to the surgeries but Roger has not indicated that he will be doing it any time soon which is good news for all tennis fans.

Everyone is going to be waiting to see him play tennis in 2021. And more importantly, his fans are going to be hoping that he will win some Grand Slams as he did back in 2017.
