The American ATP player, Jack Sock was on the apex of this career a few months from today. Sock clinched the Paris Masters title and secured two wins at the ATP Finals to reach the semi-final. Additionally, he reached the World Number 8 position. The world excepted him to outperform the other tennis players. Unfortunately, this year the tables turned. Sock dropped out of the top 100 rankings for the first time since the year 2014. A few days ago, he managed to reach the last eight in Paris where he was ranked in the top 25 rankings. However, he surrendered to the Austrian, Dominic Thiem in the quarters. For the 26-year-old American 2018 season has been though. Sock could manage to win just nine matches on the singles circuit and lost 21 of them.

The American has received the participation at the premiere major event of the next season in Melbourne. It would be with or without some withdrawals on the list in front of him. He won the  USTA Australian Open Wild Card Challenge in the presence of the players who are battling at the American Challengers in the last couple of weeks.

At present, he is engaged in the doubles event at the Nitto ATP Finals. Sock is relatively doing well on the doubles circuit. He is partnering Bob Bryan. His team has defeated the Australian Open champions Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic 6-4 7-6 (4) to go 2-0 in Group Knowles/Nestor. Now the American duo qualifies for the semi-final.

Sock has won 35 out of 50 doubles matches. Also, climbed to a career-high ranking of number two in the world in September. It does seem strange when within a year a tennis professional jumps from singles to doubles circuit at the O2 London tournament. “It kind of hit me this week, practising but I can’t complain,” said Sock. “It’s so different being here from last year, top eight in the world in singles,” he added. “Obviously I was on a high after Paris and it was an unreal finish to the year… hopefully I can be back here in singles next year, maybe singles and doubles, that would be fun.”
