What did tennis legends say about Jannik Sinner?

The feature seeks to explore the tremendous rise of Sinner. First, he claimed the title at the Next Gen ATP Finals. He was also quick to break into the top 100 at the young age of 18. Most recently, he became the global ambassador for Rolex, proving that big corporate brands already see the potential in him.

The first legend to talk about the potential of Sinner was former Wimbledon champion and the current coach of Novak Djokovic- Goran Ivanisevic.

“Jannik Sinner – that’s the future. For sure, top 5 player, maybe number 1. I can’t say that far but the kid is 18. He’s grown amazingly quick, he is the deal.”

There is no stopping Sinner who lifted the Next Gen trophy in front of his home crowd. Another player who achieved similar success at a young age was Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas. When they break through it goes suddenly very quickly and in six months a lot of things can happen. I think Sinner is one of those players who finally has taken a huge step”.

A crucial part of Sinner’s rise has been the guidance of his coach Riccardo Piatti. The Italian coach has worked with players like Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic and Maria Sharapova. Sinner is his own pet project.
