The bad blood between Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez continues as these two featherweights will face each other again. We saw chaos in Mexico after the main event between Stephens and Rodriguez ended in a no contest.

The crowd in the arena made the situation worse to the point that Stephens had to be escorted back to the locker room by UFC securities. That apart the accusations from Rodriguez that Stephens took the easy way out after the eye poke by faking an injury added salt to the wound of Jeremy Stephens.

Well, Stephens and Rodriguez will get another shot to settle that beef inside the octagon as the rematch between them has been made official. Jeremy Stephens will face Yair Rodriguez in the co-main event of UFC Boston card.

Previously Zabit Magomedsharipov and Calvin Kattar were supposed to fight in the co-main event spot. However, that fight was canceled because Zabit suffered an injury.

The rematch is going to be a lot different from the first fight in terms of the build-up. What made things interesting was the video that emerged a few days after the fight which showed an altercation between these two in the hotel after the fight.

The first fight lasted only 15 seconds. Rodriguez poked both his eyes of Stephens after a couple of kicks. Although the referee gave Stephens full 5 mins to recover from the eye poke, the fight was stopped by the doctors at the ringside since Stephens was not able to open his eyes.

While Yair Rodriguez believes he would have continued to fight if he was in the place of Jeremy Stephens, it’s hard to blame Stephens for the results since Rodriguez was the one who committed the eye poke.

With all the controversies and bad blood, Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez will look to settle the beef inside the octagon in UFC on ESPN 6 at Boston.
