Jimmie Johnson will soon be honored with a paint scheme on the penultimate day of what is his final season in NASCAR.
GMS Racing and sponsor Plan B Sales have come up with a special paint scheme in honor of the seven-time Cup Series Champion.
The specially made truck will be driven by 2018 Truck Series Champion Brett Moffitt on the weekend of the championship race in November.

Throwback paint scheme to honor Jimmie Johnson
Moffitt’s truck will sport a design just like that of Johnson’s old No. 48 car in the NASCAR Cup Series. Johnson won his first three Cup Series Championships (2006-08) in that scheme.

The final race of the season is scheduled to be held at the Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.
“Last year we partnered with Brett and GMS for the Phoenix race, but this year is different with it being the season finale and Jimmie’s final (full-time Cup) weekend,” said Brent Powell, owner of sponsor Plan B sales, in an official statement.
“It truly is an honor for us to showcase this throwback for Jimmie and hopefully see Brett clinch his second championship in our truck,” Powell added.
“Brett has been a part of the Plan B family and a great ambassador for our company over the years,” he further said.
Honored to drive truck with special scheme for Johnson, says Moffitt
Moffitt went on to say that he has looked up to Jimmie Johnson throughout his career, and this is the ‘coolest’ paint scheme he has had.
“I have looked up to him, leaned on him, and had the utmost respect for everything he has done for our sport. This is the coolest paint scheme I’ve had in my career because of how much respect and admiration I have for Jimmie,” Moffitt said.
“I’m rooting for him to go out on top, and maybe we’ll both get the chance to celebrate a championship in Phoenix later this year,” he added.
Moffitt also tweeted about the same and called Johnson ‘greatest of all time’.

“In my eyes, he’s the (GOAT)!! Extremely humbled and honored to run this throwback scheme from @JimmieJohnson’s 2007 Championship season later this year @phoenixraceway,” Moffitt wrote.
Johnson approved of the same replying, “Damn that looks good!”
Johnson had earlier announced that this will be his final season as a full-time driver in NASCAR.
