“Historically speaking, that says Joe Burrow will be able to come in and do things like Ben Roethlisberger, who came in and started and won 13 games as a starter with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Arrington said.
Burrow was phenomenal for LSU in his senior year. He led them to the National Championship and also won the 2019 Heisman Trophy.
While talking about the Roethlisberger-Burrow comparison, Arrington further remarked, “Sure you can argue he was on a much better team…but I’m comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges. Ben Roethlisberger is a fine quarterback that was considered to be a franchise-caliber guy and so is Joe Burrow.”
‘Big Ben’ was crucial for the Steelers in 2004. The two-time Super Bowl champion threw for 2,600+ yards and registered 17 TDs that year.
Bengals OC Brian Callahan heaps praise on ‘hard-worker’ Joe Burrow
Joe Burrow has impressed Brian Callahan and Co. since signing for the Bengals. The coach had only words of praise reserved for his new star QB. “I wouldn’t say anything that surprised us. He’s been what we thought he was going to be through this process. He’s put a lot of work in.
“Joe’s worked really, really hard. You can hear how guys work. And you never really know what that means, but when you see somebody come in and attack the offseason the way he’s attacked it, all it does is confirm all the things you thought, but you get to see it with your own eyes.

“You’re not hearing it through second-hand sources. You get to see him evolve, grow, adapt, and work. His mindset and his attention are not surprising to me but the thing I’ve enjoyed most is confirming all the things we had heard about him,” Callahan told the team’s official website.
