UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones finds himself in a peculiar situation where he does not have a challenger for his title. Jones last defended the title against Thiago Santos. Since coming back after the ban, Jones has defended the title against three title contenders. However, Jones could not get a challenger even if he wanted to defend one more time this year.

Though Dominick Reyes has emerged as a strong contender for the light heavyweight title, Jones is showing zero interest in that fight. Jones believes there are no exciting fights left for him at 205 right now as he is wishing to have a super fight.

Jon Jones tweeted:

“Really not sure when I’ll be fighting next, feel like I have nothing to gain by beating Dominic. I’ve actually felt that way about my last two opponents. I want a super fight”

Jones defended his title against Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos in his last two fights. While Santos fight was a close one, Jones dominated Anthony Smith for five rounds, to say the least.

Jon Jones has been aiming to make his heavyweight debut for a meaningful period now. He has even said that he wants the winner of the fight between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. Although both Cormier and Miocic would match up against Jones very well at the heavyweight division, there is another fight for Jones at heavyweight that excites the fans and that is the fight with Francis Ngannou.

Francis Ngannou has been destroying his opponent ever since his loss to Stipe Miocic on his first title fight. A fight between Jones and Ngannou looks like a mismatch considering what Ngannou is doing to elite heavyweights such as Curtis Blaydes, Junior Dos Santos and Cain Velasquez . However, arguably the greatest mixed martial artist in the history of the sport, Jon Jones feels a fight against Francis Ngannou is inevitable.

Jon Jones does have a few super fights on the table for him. Jones might move up to heavyweight and fight the winner of Miocic vs Cormier. He may even fight Anthony Johnson who is willing to fight Jones at light heavyweight.
