On top of his professional torments, unfortunately, the Argentine tennis player happens to lose his grandmother. She seems to hold an exceptional spot in Del Potro’s heart and plays a significant role in his life. The Argentine champion disclosed a touching message with a picture where he held the hands of his “abuela”.

“When you had little strength left, when your desire was to rest in Peace,” Del Potro posted on Instagram. “When you could no longer bear suffering, and so many other painful things, you were able to shake my hand and give me the last moment of love that was recorded in this photo and will remain always in my heart. It was not necessary, but nevertheless, you did it once more, leaving your strength and love for your family and grandchildren forever. I love you grandma. Forever!”
