At the young age of 21, Del Potro won his first, and only, Grand Slam at the US Open, back in 2009. He beat Roger Federer in a thrilling 5-setter, which was enjoyed by every tennis fan. Sadly, he did not reach another final until the 2018 US Open, which he lost to Novak Djokovic.
Many players have been skeptical about this year’s US Open due to the rising COVID-19 cases and the restrictions at the event. Del Potro has not officially talked about this but everyone will be hoping that he returns to it. And, more importantly, they will be hoping that he wins the title.
