Juan Martin Del Potro, is set to return to the top ten in the ATP singles rankings. Del Potro, had a really good year in 2017. Del Potro won 20 out of his last 25 matches in 2017, winning a title in Stockholm and reaching the semi-finals of the US open and Shanghai open. He also fell just short of qualifying for the ATP world tour finals in 2017, finishing the year as the world number 11.

The big Argentine started his 2018 campaign with a convincing win over Canadian Denis Shapovalov at the Auckland open. Karen Khachanov will face Del Potro in the quarterfinals tomorrow. This win guarantees Juan Martin Del Potro’s place in the top ten singles rankings, replacing Carreno Busta. Del Potro was pleased with his victory over Shapovalov, avenging his loss in Montreal last year. He said he was surprised at how well he was playing in his first match of the season.
