Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus made sure they got the new year started off in style. Maurizio Saari’s men secured a positive start to their campaign in 2020 with a win over Cagliari. With their Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hattrick while Gonzalo Higuain also got on the scoring sheet.
The Serie A champions won comfortably against Cagliari with an impressive scoreline of 4-0. Cristiano Ronaldo also came good for them as he scored yet again. The Portuguese forward has now scored consecutively in five matches, a feat he has achieved for the first time in a Juventus jersey.

Juventus manager Maurizio Saari mixes it up with team selection
It was an interesting team named by Maurizio Saari as summer signings Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot along with Juan Cuadrado were included in the team. With Gonzalo Higuain, Mattia De Sciglio and Rodrigo Bentacur making way for them. Merih Demrial once again started over Matthijs de Ligt as the Dutch international is still not fully fit. Cristiano Ronaldo off to a perfect start
Juventus ensured that they dominated the first half though they failed to register a goal. However, they did come close to scoring on several occasions, first in the 30th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo’s pinpoint header was kept out by Cagliari goalkeeper, Robin Olsen. Though Olsen was beaten in 35th minute when Demrial produced a thumping header, only to be kept out by the crossbar.

The Italian champions were far more clinical in the second half. As they scored four goals to comfortably beat Rolando Maran’s men. Cristiano Ronaldo started off the scoring as he pounced on a mistake by Ragnar Klavan as produced a neat finish from close range. He scored his second from the penalty spot. As Paulo Dybala was bundled over in the penalty box by Marko Rog. The former Manchester United forward completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute as he scored pass a diving Olsen. Ronaldo also registered an assist for his brilliant through ball which was finished by Higuain in the 81st minute.
With this win, Juventus have restored their three points lead over rivals Inter Milan.
