Insi Gutta, an avid badminton lover and proud sister of Jwala Gutta, has written an open letter to Ingeti Srinivas saying her sister is undisciplined. She wrote, “there has always been a fair selection of players, why is it that a men’s singles player with almost no performance to show is included in the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) while India’s number one women’s doubles pairing has been excluded from the scheme? On what basis is this selection fair?” Keeping her demand of including her sister and Ashwini in the TOPS, she quoted their each and every achievement in her letter.

With regards to the complaints that were drawn by Jwala Gutta herself she quoted statement of many players to prove her, “Must have separate camp for doubles” said by Prakash Padukone to PTI on 9 Dec 2014. “Want More Importance to be given to Doubles” said by Olympian Aparna Popat on 2 June 2015 to PTI. India needs a foreign specialist doubles coach”, said Vimal Kumar to Firstpost on 9 June 2015.”

At the end of her letter she appreciated the support of the government and also said that her sister will keep her nation proud by bringing more laurels to it.

The sports ministry is all set to include Jwala and Ashwini in their next list of TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme). The official said, “Since we have approved a doubles coach for the badminton players, we decided to include the top badminton players in the TOP scheme. And as there is no better pair than Jwala and Ashwini, they will soon enter the set of TOP players for Olympics.”

After Jwala spoke against Gopichand, Ashwini was also seen supporting her doubles partner for excluding them from the TOPS list. The official said, “They should not have spoken against Gopichand. Not even once in the TOP meetings he spoke against Jwala and Ashwini. He is a man of huge stature and a role model for many Indians. In fact it is because of him we agreed on hiring a doubles coach.”
