Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori has been a top player in the men’s game. In 2014, he became the first player representing an Asian country to reach the final of a Grand Slam event from the ATP tour. He has certainly raised the bar in the men’s game for Asian players.

Recently, there has been some exciting news outside the tennis courts for Kei Nishikori. The 31-year-old player recently revealed that he has become a father as he talked about his experience of raising a child.

Kei Nishikori has become a father!
The Japanese tennis star has again been troubled by injuries this season. Therefore, for him to end the year with such good news would certainly be great for the former World No. 4.
On sharing the good news of the birth of his child, he stated, “Only after I became a parent did I realize how tough it is to take care of a child. You should be grateful to your parents.”

As a new father, Nishikori also shared some advice for children all over the world, he said, “Of course you sometimes feel like you don’t like your parents, but try to be nice to them after a few days.”

Coming to tennis, Nishikori began the season in Melbourne and lost in the opening round of the Australian Open. After that, he had a decent clay season when he came as far as the fourth round in the French capital at Roland Garros.

He was next up at the Wimbledon Championships. Sadly, he lost in the opening week by losing in the second round of the event. He ended his year’s run at Grand Slam events by reaching the third round at the US Open.

The Japanese player was troubled with injuries again this year, which has unfortunately become a recurring theme in his career. On the personal front, however, he’ll be looking forward to the challenge of being a father.
