The rematch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is arguably the most anticipated fight at the moment. There is no love lost between these UFC superstars, even after their first encounter.
The lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, mauled Conor McGregor and made him tap before jumping the octagon to attack Conor’s training partner Dillion Dannis. The bottom line is that, this fight is personal. It has nothing to do with business anymore, and Khabib just proved it by saying he won’t fight Conor McGregor even if UFC offers him millions of dollars. Khabib said the only way Conor will get a rematch is, if he comes back and wins fight against impressive opponents.
Khabib said, “I don’t think this fight can happen. This guy has to come back and make 9-10 wins then we are gonna fight. Maybe people think when UFC ask me to fight Conor with millions dollars I will take this fight. It’s not gonna happen. Come back and show. Fight with Justin, Al Laquinta, with Tony. Come back and deserve the fight.”

Well, it seems the champion has set his terms and condition. The Notorious One has to prove himself to get a rematch against Khabib. In a recent interview, Conor expressed his desire to fight Khabib again for redemption. If that’s not possible, he will fight anyone to get back his title. It seems that the path to the lightweight title just got longer for Conor.
Khabib Nurmagomedov will be defending his title against the interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier in the main-event of UFC 242. A lot would depend on the outcome of that fight. If Khabib wins then Tony Ferguson is next in the line. However, if Khabib loses he might have to fight Conor again. With all the speculations aside, it’s needless to say that Khabib Nurmagomedov is running the show right now.
