Klay Thompson‘s is from a sporting family. While his father played briefly in the NBA, and mother is a former college volleyball player, Klay’s younger brother is an outfielder for the Cleveland Indians. The Thompson’s family is one of the most popular NBA family in the NBA. It consists of retired NBA player Mychal Thompson, his wife Julie Thompson, and his sons Mychel, Klay, and Trayce Thompson. They currently live in Oakland, California.
Mychal Thompson- Klay Thompson’s dad:
Mychal Thompson was himself an NBA player who was the Portland Trail Blazers first overall pick in the 1978 NBA Draft. He later played for San Antonio Spurs(1986-1987), Los Angeles Lakers (1987-1991) and Juvecaserta Basket (1991–1992). He became an NBA champion in the second season of his NBA career. His next championship came even quicker when the Trail Blazers won the next season.
His jersey number 43 was retired by the University of Minnesota when he was done with his career. Post retirement, he worked as a commentator.
Julie Thompson- Klay’s mother:
Julie Thompson (née Leslie)is an American former college volleyball player for University of San Francisco of West Coast Conference and is married to former National Basketball Association player Mychal Thompson. She is the mother of current NBA player Klay Thompson. She gave birth to three sons: Mychel (1988), Klay (1990), and Trayce (1991).
Laura Harrier- Klay Thompson’s girlfriend-
Laura Harrier is an American actress and model. According to playersiwves.com, Klay and Laura had been dating for a little more than 6 months, and the entire relationship went unknown, which is an impressive feat unto itself for two people of this caliber. It came out in August when the vacation pictures of the couple went viral.
Harrier had her major film debut playing Peter Parker’s one-time love interest Liz Allan in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). In June 2017, it was announced that Harrier would be portraying Millie Montag in HBO’s film adaptation of acclaimed novel Fahrenheit 451, opposite Michael B. Jordan. however, she was later cut from the film. Harrier co-starred as a civil rights activist in the thriller film BlacKkKlansman (2018), opposite John David Washington, Adam Driver, and Topher Grace.
