Knicks Injury Report: Jalen Brunson Faces Race Against Time vs Magic as Curtains of Hope Remain Closed

The New York Knicks are in the midst of a tough stretch, having lost eight of their last eleven games. They are also facing injury issues. All-Star point guard Jalen Brunson is questionable for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic after missing the last two games with a left knee contusion. Fortunately, however, another New York Knick will be making his way back out of the infirmary after several weeks.

While Jalen Brunson has a questionable status, OG Anunoby has been out of action since January. The Knicks currently have several of its superstars injured, so the return of Anunoby is definitely a blessing for New York. The British baller was out due to an elbow injury that required him to undergo surgery.

According to a tweet on X by Kristian Winfield, Josh Hart says OG Anunoby (right elbow surgery) shot the ball well in practice this morning. The hope is OG doesn’t have much soreness tomorrow. ‘He looked good. He looks like himself.'”

The comeback of Anunoby would be great news for the Knicks who have lacked defensively in his absence. Anunoby was averaging 15.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game before he was injured. The Knicks won 12 of the 14 games that Anunoby played in after he was acquired from the Raptors on December 30th.

The Knicks are averaging 109.9 points per game this season, The Knicks are allowing 113.4 points per game. Brunson’s status is unclear for the game but it is expected that he might play a few minutes. He has been important for them scoring 27.2 points per game. This is how the Knicks could line up: Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart, Precious Achiuwa, and Isaiah Hartenstein.

The Magic have won 8 out of their last 10 games and are on a 5-game winning streak. They rank 4th in the Eastern Conference. But their away record hasn’t been good losing 18 out of a total of 34 away games. the Magic are averaging 111.3 points per game and they are allowing 110.7 points per game. Pablo Bancherro has been their leading scorer this season scoring 22.9 points per game 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Magic will look forward to extending their winning streak to 6 games. And entering into the contest they are slight favourites to win the match.  The outcome of the game will depend on Jalen Brunson. If he manages to play a few minutes chances of winning will improve for Knicks’. But if he is out Magic will be favourites to win the game.
