

Australian tennis players Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis have secured their spot in the men’s doubles finals at the Australian Open 2022. Joining these players in the finals will be the Australian pair of Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell.
At the beginning of the tournament, not many would have imagined Kyrgios and Kokkinakis reaching the final. However, for them to be facing another Australian pair is something fans will be thrilled about.

On seeing two Aussie pairs make it to the finals of the Australian Open 2022, tennis legend Rod Laver couldn’t contain his excitement. Notably, he took to social media to congratulate the four of them.
The 11-time Grand Slam winner said, “Congratulations Nick, Thanasi, Max, and Matt. Four Aussie men in the doubles final, you are all knocking it out of the Park!”

Big Upsets caused by the Australian duos in the tournament
Reflecting on the performances of these players, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis have caused a few upsets over the past week. They beat the top seeds Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic. Today, they knocked out third seeds Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers, which helped them seal the spot in the final.

On the other hand, Purcell and Ebden have knocked out second seeds, Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram. Earlier in the tournament, they even knocked out fourth seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in a close-fought encounter.

Now that it has come down to the final match, these players will be squaring it off tomorrow. Notably, this is the first time Kyrgios has reached the final of a Grand Slam event and for him to win this title would be the biggest achievement of his career so far.
