Getting his autograph at Texas Motor Speedway

Lisa Faggard

I was fortunate enough to meet Kyle several times…he actually didn’t always seem approachable, but would always stop for you if you asked. I’ll always remember this moment at qualifying in Dover last year. We were waiting under a hauler with him bc it was raining. We started chatting and I shared how much I loved Samantha’s clothing line and the shirt I was wearing. He loved to talk about his kids and his family. It was special to see this side of him vs the fierce and brutally honest competitor he was on the track. RIP Rowdy. You will be missed.

I got a pic with Kyle and my grandson at Dover last week on top of the maze in the fanfair. My daughter was yelling that Kyle was on the deck, right aside of us. I never heard her. Went back up and saw him and asked for a pic. He was so nice. I told him I didn't realize he was standing here, that we came back up to the deck just for the pic.. he laughed and said, "That's funny!

Getting an Autographed Interstate Batteries #18 car is now Priceless to Me. RIP Kyle Rowdy Busch!!! You are Truly Missed and Nascar will NEVER Be the Same!!!

Butch

As a newbie Nascar follower, I didn't know all of the history of Kyle. Bizarrely I follow his son on YouTube as its great racing, great viewing and the kid is such a natural on camera. Kyle was present at many races and it was obvious the love and respect he had for Braxton. What swung it for me was his interview, just over a year ago, on Actions Detrimental with DH11. It was brilliant. It was two guys down the pub having a beer and chatting. It was riveting. I was a much better informed fan afterwards. It's such a shame that he's not going to be a brilliant father for his kids. I'm sure his wife will do all she can to support both of the kids and with the incredibly detail of their own issues with IVF, It's beautiful that over a hundred or so babies have been born as a result of the help they gave. What a great legacy to leave.

John from France

I watched Kyle win at Bristol with my dad back in 2009. It was raining, he was threading the needle through traffic, and we were losing our minds. That race became a family tradition. Every Bristol race after that, we would go together. He retired and so did those trips. Still can't watch Bristol without thinking of him.

Rowdy was the driver that made me fall in love with NASCAR. My kids grew up knowing his name before they could name a president. Number 18 will always be the greatest. Thank you for everything you gave to this sport.

Marcus Webb

Kyle Busch showed what it means to never quit. Watching him come back from that Daytona injury and win the 2015 championship the same season is something I'll tell my grandkids about. Pure grit and raw speed in one person.

Sandra Okafor

When Rowdy was let go from Hendricks because they had signed Dale Jr.and Rowdy was hired by JGR, Darrell Waltrip commented on live television "I am not so sure but that Gibbs got the better of that deal". Waltrip recognized the talent before it came to fruition.

Ken

Very thankful to my 93 yo mother for my following Kyle Busch for the last 15 years. Live watching him get through traffic so effortlessly. RIP Kyle

Nancy Mcmahan

My 1st memory of Kyle Busch was while watching a Nascar night tv race. Anouncer was DW who made a telling Kyle Busch comment: Did you see what that kid just did? He came into the corner "high" while passing and came out "low" and passed another driver! Look at him go ... boogity, boogity"!! If I'm not mistaken, that was the same race that the father (###) put Kyle in a headlock while punching him ! Hopefully, I haven't messed this up too badly cause this happened A LONG TIME AGO !!

Barney Dunn

This was the race when the camera cable fell onto the track. Kyle ran through the cable and destroyed a bunch of the body work.

2013 Cocar Cola 600

I first saw Kyle Busch doing an interview in a Las Vegas casino on the Friday night before his NASCAR debut on Sunday March 7, 2004. I remember thinking, Wow, this kid has got what it takes to be a star. He was well spoken and handled himself like a star. I hadn't even seen him drive yet. I had gone to see him because he was just a couple of months younger than my son. Little did I know that my first impression of him would prove true. What a loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his NASCAR family.

Lauren

being able to get to meet Kyle before he was in Nascar not only once but a few times at the Bull ring in Las Vegas

William Gillespie

I cheered for rowdy for years. Now I will have to find someone to cheer until his son is old enough to race in the big cars. I feel for Samantha and the kids

Ever since Carl Edwards left Joe Gibbs Racing and retired, my driver was Kyle Busch. Boy, could he drive. Nobody will ever beat this driver in his peak, I guarantee it. We lost a great NASCAR driver: Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 8 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing. Now, after what happened to Kyle, I’m sure NASCAR is going to find different ways to make sure drivers are in perfect health before they race.

On April 11, 2003, a 17-year-old kid from Las Vegas, Nev. won his first major race at Nashville Superspeedway, and one of the greatest careers in the sport's history was underway. I was there. Rick Hendrick brought an unsponsored car to the track. He earned the pole and led almost every lap. He put on a good show.

kre****to1@gmail.com

Iam sad , l always cheered him on from my home watching TV.

Kyle Busch was my husband’s and my favorite NASCAR Cup driver ever since he became a Cup Series driver. We always made two annual trips to Phoenix Raceway, two annual trips to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and one annual trip to Sonoma Raceway. We would also pick another NASCAR race or two to attend every year, just to cheer on our favorite driver, Kyle Busch. God bless you, Kyle. You were loved by so many NASCAR fans, and you will be missed and loved forever.

goo**007@msn.com

He told it like it was and not a lot of people initially liked that. His performance backed up his words. You didn't have to cheer for him. But you almost always respected him. He contributed so very much to the sport, development and helping others on and off the track. I feel lucky to have been able to watch him grow over the last 20+ years. I will treasure the many tracks I have been at to watch him race and often win. You will be so greatly missed. Thank you for one hell of a ride. Rest in Peace.

psn*****523@gmail.com

Been my favorite driver from the beginning of his career. So sad.

He was just a winner for all of us

Gone but not forgotten. No I wasn’t one of his fans but he was a great competitor and always did what he thought was best. My condolences for his family and friends from the bottom of my heart. Kyle will be deeply missed

edn********000@gmail.com

rjb********ser@gmail.com

Loved his competitive nature in racing. This news brought tears, so young with a beautiful family. Never expected this!

dlo*****a18@gmail.com

Not a Kyle Busch "fan" but I do recognize his talent, drive and his impact on racing. I will miss him. I'm still in shock that someone so young and with the best possible medical care could just be gone. He just won a truck race. Kyle, I wish you peace wherever you are. And I wish healing for his family.

blu***********a12@hotmail.com

Heart broken for his family and fans. It's just terrible I was a big fan through his whole career . Huge loss so sorry

bil*********257@gmail.com

As much as I am still in shock I find it hard to believe that he has passed on, it just really has shocked me, oh I know that sinus infections can cause other problems like going into pneumonia as that's what happened to me but with proper treatment I Came out of it. I pray for his wife Samantha, I am sure she never thought 2 weeks ago she would be a widow being mother and father to their children, as Kyle said "we never know when it will be your final". My sympathy to her, the family and his friends in the loss of Kyle he really was a good driver . Kyle, just know that you are going to be missed but may you R.I.P. Just know that you will be missed and you are loved by all.

raf******aec@gmail.com

I wasn't his biggest fan - but he was a great driver. Broken hearted for everyone, such a sad event. Hoping Samantha & his family keep the memories of this legend alive...

map**ner@msn.com

He was the Nascar that I enjoyed watching. Going to be hard to root for another bc no one compares.

tri****ll9@gmail.com

Rooted for Kyle every week, he will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers to his family and closest friends...

ken*********i60@gmail.com

My heart hurts for his wife and children. My all time favorite 'picture' of him is bowing with the checkered flag! Greater than any burnout in history. Uniquely Kyle.

mue***@msn.com

I've been a Kyle Busch fan from the start, just like I was a Dale Earnhardt fan from the start. They were my reason for watching Nascar all these years. And both of them were considered villains, yes, even Dale in the early days...because they were damn good drivers. Just like that fateful day at Daytona all those years ago, it just doesn't feel real.

prw***128@gmail.com

He was and always will be my favorite driver. He was a take no prisoners type of racer who wanted to win. Godspeed RIP Rowdy

jbl**zak@associatedfire.net

Kyle had the whole package: immense talent, memorable personality, and a fiercely competitive nature. He loved to race, and he always wanted to win. His overall win total may well stand forever. RIP Kyle.

fro**878@gmail.com

I have been a nascar fan all my life being at the same age as Mark Martin our birthdays are 4 days apart, Kyle was one of those that came up thru the ranks, exploded in ability to run with the best and proved he was a hell of a driver, love him or hated him you have to admire the fact he accomplished greatness , will surely be missed by all. R.I.P. Rowdy

mha*****105@gmail.com

Loved his competitiveness and competency in racing. He took no s**t from anybody in a very tough sport.

Saw Michigan win, seen him at California sister track win, look forward to seeing Brex

ter********arr@gmail.com

I didn't use to like him, but had to admit he was one of the best and most talented driver. As time went by, he matured & mellowed (largely to Samantha's influence & the kids). I then grew to really like him, root for him & really respect him & his driving expertise. RIP Rowdy - I'll miss him!

jak*096@gmail.com

Kyle became the driver we "loved to hate" after Dale Sr. died. His arrogance, smugness, and egotistic nastiness was irritating. But he was one hell of a driver. I'm amazed that he wasn't doing as well with RCR as he was with Gibbs, and I was starting to feel bad for him and his team. This is just such a sad situation, and I hurt for his family. So sorry....

99w********too@gmail.com

Kyle was my driver after Rusty Wallace retired from Racing. I saw early on he was a force in the making and man did he ever deliver! It feels like I lost a family member with his passing. It will take awhile to come to terms with this huge loss. R.I.P. "Rowdy" My thoughts are for his family, the entire racing community and his fans.

jer********pie@gmail.com

I think of him as a talented racer, and a smart business man but I also saw the family he loved so much. That's where I admired him the most I think. I wore my Kyle Busch shirt proudly today as an honor to him and his legacy. I will miss him on the track and I feel so badly for his family.

sha*********ron@gmail.com

Hated him until I realized his race "character" and the character of the man were two different things. Major respect for the man. Deep sadness for the family.

lex******953@gmail.com

Always enjoyed watching him. Nascar has lost a special one.

jst**iti@gmail.com

When I came to nascar, I started rooting for him because I love M&M's. But once I got to know him, I loved how, love him or hate him, he always came out on top! He loved to race, and would race anything, as much as he could. He was a fierce competitor who absolutely loved the sport, and the fans!!!

goo*******ter@outlook.com

He was simply the best that I followed for over 20yrs !
